Parent & Tot- Please email for inquires

A 30 minute program intended to provide exposure to skating for children ages 3 and 4 who have never been on the ice before. It provides an opportunity for skaters to be in the presence and comfort of their parent, or an adult over the age of 18, while experiencing the joys and challenges of balance and control. We provide music, toys, teaching aids and coach guidance to promote a safe and enjoyable experience for both you and your child. Adults accompanying the children need to be proficient skaters. There must be one adult per one child. All participants must provide their own skates. Tots must provide their own hockey helmets with face masks.  Please note that for the parent to be insured an additional Skate Canada Fee and Safe Sport Fee must be paid at registration.

Power & Skill Development

The program has been designed to focus on the development of basic balance & control of edges, forward and backward skating, stops & turns. Recognizing that skating is a foundational skill for hockey and ringette, this program allows for the opportunity to focus on skating outside of the game and practice. The program is designed to allow flexibility for progression or an increase in intensity as needed, to cater to the level of skaters in the program. Participants will be assessed based on a continuum of development that will indicate skills at an early moderate or advanced stage of development. Teaching and developing the proper skating technique is the main focus of this program. All skaters must have passed Stage 4 or equivalent.  Participants will be on the ice for 45 minutes and require to wear full CSA approved hockey helmet and equipment.
